Ch. 10 Voc Words

•Prod: To poke or jab with or as if with something pointed . Miss Jade prod me with a pencil in class.

•Resented: To feel indignantly aggrieved at. I felt resented at my NA programs.




•Strutting: Walking or moving with a strut; walking pompously; pompous. I’ll be strutting when I am after my pray .



•Swerved: To turn aside abruptly in movement or direction. I’ve swerved when I fight with an opponent.



•Deliberately: Carefully weighed or considered; studied; intentional. My po officer deliberately observed my attendance at school .



•Gleaming: A brief beam or flash of light . I hate the gleaming light from the morning .


•Shuddered: To shiver convulsively, as from fear or revulsion. I shuddered when I saw the devil in my dream.


•Wheezed: To breathe with difficulty and with a whistling sound. I wheezed after I fought six rounds .


•Clenched: To close tightly . I clenched my fits when I begin a fight.


•Bait: Food, or some substitute, used as a lure in fishing, trapping . I have to have bait to catch fish in the ocean.


•Splurge: To indulge oneself in some luxury or pleasure. My girlfriend like to splurge me when we go out to town.



•Advantage: Any state, circumstance, opportunity, or means specially favorable to success, interest, or any desired end. If my opponent is shorter than me , I have an advantage of wining a fight.



•Withered: To dry up or shrivel from or as if from loss of moisture. I need to know how to withered my plants of herbs .



•Aptitude: Capability; ability; innate or acquired capacity for something; talent. My aptitude is skate boarding.



•Frenzied: wildly excited or enthusiastic . My homie was frenzied when he got out from jail.
